Microscopes are extremely important in the field of root canal treatment as they allow us to see more so we know we have completely cleaned and debrided the inside of your tooth.
This is a computer aided design and computer aided manufacturing system that allows us to make beautiful and strong ceramic teeth in one visit that are accurate to 2 microns. This means no return visit, no dark lines or metal under the crowns and a fit and performance that cannot be matched by conventional methods. Once a tooth has been restored this way it has up to 95% of the strength it had before it was ever drilled.
Ozone has a wide variety of uses in dentistry. Ozone’s strongest capability is in it’s anti-bacterial affects. One of the biggest challenges faced in dentistry every day is in dealing with bacteria in the mouth. Ozone gives us a huge advantage in this constant battle.
For example, following an extraction ozone is used to flush out the extraction socket of bacteria, minimising the risk of painful complications such as an infection and a dry socket. Ozone is also used in other surgical procedures such as implant placement and bone grafting to minismise infections.
Ozone is also used in our restorative work. During fillings and crowns following remove of decayed portions of tooth, ozone is used to attack the remaining microbes. This ensures crowns and fillings are placed on clean tooth structure.
We use ozone to clean and disinfect roots during root canal therapy. Root canal therapies can be difficult to disinfect at the best of times. Ozone provides us another avenue of removing microbes from deep inside the tooth roots that are not visible to the naked eye or under a microscope.
Ozone is also used as an additive disinfectant for the practice.
Digital radiography allows us to see your X-rays instantly and more accurately on our computer screen. Digital X-rays also mean you only receive less than a quarter of the radiation dose of standard X-rays.
We use two types of dental lasers: a Diode soft tissue laser for the painless removal and re-contouring of soft tissues, and the Versa Wave hard tissue laser for doing fillings without a drill or needle. These lasers do their job much better than older, more conventional methods and are much, much gentler on the oral tissues they leave behind.
This is a computer controlled anaesthetic delivery system that means no painful injections or the dreaded numb lip. The computer senses the pressure in the tissue and leaks the solution in slowly, which means no sting. This system also has the ability to leak the solution into the periodontal ligament of the tooth which means the surrounding tissues (lip) will not go numb.

The intra-oral camera can also be utilised to diagnose dental conditions such as cracks, broken teeth, decaying areas and soft tissue disease. We also use the photos as references for future appointments. This allows us to monitor your progress accurately and reduces the need for excessive dental treatment.
