Root Canal Therapy

  • Root canal is the removal of a dead or inflamed tooth nerve and the filling of the nerve space to prevent bacterial ingress.
  • Used to treat severe tooth aches from abscesses or when the nerve is irreversibly inflamed.
  • Usually completed in two to three visits.
  • Single-visit root canal is possible in 30% of cases.

About Root Canal Therapy

At Dental Avenue, preserving teeth whenever we can is one of our goals. Root Canal Therapy (RCT) procedure helps us achieve that goal. This conservative treatment eliminates dental infection inside the tooth and may save your badly decayed tooth from extraction.

Every tooth has an inner chamber and root canal that contains the dental pulp. The dental pulp contains blood and nerves that makes the tooth alive (vital). When a tooth sustains damage from a deep cavity, fracture, or other trauma, infection can set in and cause pain and pressure. If left untreated, the pulp can die(non-vital), and you may experience gum, bone, and tooth loss.

Root Canal Therapy procedure is essential for patients with infected, non-vital  or dead tooth. During root canal therapy, we’ll clean out the canals of your tooth and insert a biocompatible filler to eliminate  infection and discomfort. At the end of the root canal therapy, customised dental crown will be mounted on the tooth to help protect from additional damage and renew your beautiful smile
