Comfortable Dental Procedures

Topical anaesthetic is routinely used to numb the surface before any injection. A digital injecting machine is most often used. It is known as the "wand" and it varies the flow of the fluid to minimise distortion of the soft tissues at the injection site. It is this stretching of the tissues that causes the most pain. The wand limits this and is often not even felt by the patient.

If anxiety is a problem then other methods of treatment may be necessary. Nitrous oxide is available to take the stress away as is intravenous "twilight" sedation.

This is administered by a qualified seditionist and you are constantly monitored. This procedure has a very relaxing and amnesic affect on you. Time will pass quickly and you will have very little memory of the procedure. This is as relaxed as you can be in the dental surgery. Fasting is required and a safe journey home under supervision.
